Time to get our ‘Electro Swiggety’ on!

We’re so excited to bring Electro Swiggety all the way from Brisbane to the Australia Art Deco Festival Leeton!

Electro Swiggety is a dynamic show combining the DJ turntables with live trumpet and vocals. You can catch them perform at the Hundred at the Hydro event on Friday 12 July, but first, lets get to know Electro Swiggety!

The duo is a unique collaboration between music producer and DJ Khesrow Rasta and Singer/Songwriter/Trumpeter Tara Neilsen. Keeping with the prohibition theme, the characters ‘Miss Teeny Trumpet’ and ‘Big K Daddy’ will take the stage at the Historic Hydro as we celebrate 100 years.

Khesrow is a well-respected DJ and music producer with a background in funk, rnb and hip-hop. His focus is on the rhythm and beat and reading the crowd. Khesrow creates seamless transitions between their original recordings and arrangements, developing unique, exciting mixes of songs.

Tara brings back the glamour and flamboyancy of the golden 1920’s, adding her hot ‘n’ sassy trumpet solos and her distinctive sweet and delicate vocal style, layered with rich harmony. Tara was raised on early jazz and 1950’s & 60’s pop. Her focus is on expressing beautiful melodies, meaningful lyrics and catchy trumpet riffs.

Together Electro Swiggety brings an infusion of a style once considered immoral and threatening with a fat dance beat.

Electro Swiggety perform upbeat originals in a vibrant and energetic way. Their style is a crossover of vintage jazz, hip-hop and dance. They also perform many classic, well loved songs with their own signature style.

Come dressed in your best and dance the night away to a to their repertoire of vintage 20’s and 30s tunes at Hundred at the Hydro. Tickets are still available for this ‘night of nights’, which also features a casino and Murder Mystery for guests.
